Sverigekontakt is now offering international students the chance to do just that through its 2025 Summer Course in Swedish at the scenic Axevalla Folkhögskola—and yes, scholarships are available!


What’s the Opportunity?

Sverigekontakt, an organization dedicated to promoting the Swedish language and culture worldwide, is inviting applications for its annual Information Summer Course for non-native speakers studying Swedish abroad. This immersive three-week course will take place from July 14 to August 1, 2025, in the heart of Sweden at Axevalla Folkhögskola, located just over two hours from Gothenburg.


What Does the Course Offer?

This summer course is open to learners with Swedish language proficiency ranging from A2 to C1, which means you should have completed the beginner stages of your language studies. Whether you’re an undergrad, postgraduate, or simply a lifelong learner over 18, you are welcome to apply—there’s no upper age limit!

The course includes:

  • Daily Swedish language classes tailored to your level
  • Cultural immersion with traditional Swedish leisure activities
  • Exciting excursions, sausage grilling (korvgrillning!), and swimming
  • Shared accommodation and full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and lots of coffee!)

Scholarships Available

Sverigekontakt awards scholarships to international applicants studying Swedish abroad. These scholarships cover course fees and accommodation, providing a stress-free way to improve your Swedish while soaking up authentic Swedish culture.

Who Can Apply?

  • Anyone over the age of 18
  • Must be studying Swedish and have completed beginner-level studies (A2–C1 proficiency)
