QUEX PhD Scholarship 2025 at University of Queensland

The prestigious QUEX PhD Scholarship 2025 at the University of Queensland (UQ) in collaboration with the University of Exeter (UK) opens for applications on 14 April 2025. This joint doctoral program is designed for high-achieving students passionate about solving global challenges in sustainability, digital innovation, health, and beyond.


About the QUEX PhD Scholarship

This program is a part of the renowned QUEX Institute, connecting two globally respected institutions—UQ and Exeter—to train the next generation of research leaders. Successful candidates will benefit from:

  • A living stipend of AUD $36,400 per annum (tax-free, 2025 rate)
  • A travel and development allowance of AUD $18,000 throughout the program
  • Full tuition fee coverage
  • Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Duration: 3.5 years with a possible 6-month extension
  • A joint PhD degree from both UQ and Exeter

Candidates will spend at least 12 months at each university and participate in research at the cutting edge of their fields.

Eligibility Requirements

You’re eligible to apply if you:

  • Meet PhD entry requirements for both UQ and the University of Exeter
  • Are able to study full-time and onshore at UQ (Australia) or Exeter (UK)
  • Are selected by the QUEX selection committee
  • Do not currently hold a PhD

Note: Domestic part-time students with caring responsibilities, medical conditions, or disabilities may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
