What’s This PhD Program About?
This exciting doctoral research project will involve both in-vitro and in-vivo infection experiments to test the efficacy and safety of therapeutic phages. The selected PhD candidate will work within an interdisciplinary, international research team focused on revolutionizing microbial treatment strategies. Who Should Apply?
LMU Munich is looking for highly motivated international students who are eager to pursue a PhD in a vibrant academic setting. You should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences, biomedical sciences, or natural sciences.
- Have a strong background in microbiology and infection biology.
- Be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a global research environment.
- Demonstrate excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Experience in bioinformatics, working with BSL2 pathogens, or handling (pro)phages is a plus—but don’t worry if you’re missing one; you’ll have the chance to learn on the job.
