For six decades, the New York State Senate has offered graduate and post-graduate students a front-row seat to policymaking through its highly competitive Legislative Fellowship Program. The initiative has a proud legacy of producing changemakers — many former fellows now serve in top roles within the State Senate, Assembly, Executive Chamber, and beyond.
This 9-month immersive program runs from mid-September 2025 through mid-June 2026 and offers a $50,000 stipend, paid biweekly and subject to taxation. The experience equips fellows with the tools to influence real change in the lives of New Yorkers and gain unparalleled insight into how state-level legislation is developed and passed.

Types of Fellowships Offered
1# Legislative Fellowships (11–12 positions)
Work directly with a New York State Senator on a range of dynamic legislative tasks:

2# James Biggane Finance Fellowship (1 position)

3# Richard Wiebe Public Service Fellowship (1 position)
