What’s the Opportunity?
The Grants for Cooperation on Sustainability Science with CAS-TWAS Centres of Excellence are now open for the 2025 cycle. This initiative, jointly supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the TWAS Network for Sustainable Development, will provide funding for innovative collaborative research aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Researchers will partner with one of six CAS-TWAS Centres of Excellence (CoEs), each focusing on critical fields like green tech, water, climate, infectious diseases, and more.

Eligible Fields and Centres
Who Can Apply?
- TWAS Members or TWAS Young Affiliates
- Scientists based outside of China
- Proposals must involve collaboration with one CAS-TWAS CoE
- Team applications are welcome, but the lead applicant cannot be based in China.
