Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Commonwealth Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

1# Citizenship:

    • Be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth Caribbean nation (see list above), or
    • Be a Commonwealth Dependent Territories citizen of Anguilla, BVI, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, or Turks and Caicos.

    • Be aged 18–23 as of 1 October 2025 (born between 2 October 2001 and 1 October 2007), or
    • Be under 27 as of 1 October 2025 (born after 1 October 1998) if your first undergraduate degree was completed after 1 October 2024.

4# Academic Excellence:

    • Must complete a Bachelor’s degree by July 2026
    • GPA of 3.70/4.0 or equivalent is strongly recommended
    • Must meet Oxford’s course-specific academic requirements

5# English Language:


Courses Covered at Oxford

  • All full-time graduate courses (MSc, MPhil, DPhil) that span at least two academic years
  • Option to apply for a Second BA with Senior Status
  • Choose two course preferences during the application (main and backup).

Application Timeline

The application period for the Rhodes Scholarship 2025 for the Commonwealth Caribbean opens on Monday, 2 June 2025 and closes at 23:59 AST on Friday, 19 September 2025. All references must also be submitted by this deadline.

Final Selection Dates:

  • Interviews and Social Engagement: 10–11 November 2025 (in person, in Barbados)
  • Finalists from outside Barbados will receive financial travel support (if not already funded by your institution)

Result Notification: All applicants will be informed of the outcome by December 2025.
