The University of Liverpool has officially opened its Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarships – Country for the September 2025 and January 2026 intakes, offering up to £5,000 in tuition fee discounts for new international postgraduate students from around the world.
The Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship – Country is designed to reward talented international students based on their nationality. If you are from one of the eligible countries and plan to pursue one of the 140+ eligible master’s or MRes degrees on-campus in Liverpool, this scholarship could significantly reduce your tuition burden.
Scholarship Value
- £2,500 tuition fee discount for eligible students from specific countries.
- This may be combined with another Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship – Achievement to reach a maximum of £5,000.
Please note: Total discounts (including any other bursaries) are capped at 50% of tuition fees.
Eligible Countries
Australia & Pacific: Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, Australia, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Kiribati, Vanuatu, New Zealand, Nauru, Solomon Islands.
Africa: Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya, Seychelles, Togo, Ghana, Botswana, Egypt, Eswatini, Gabon, Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, The Gambia, Cameroon, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda.
Caribbean & Americas: Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, Canada, Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, Dominica, Mexico, Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Bahamas.
Asia: Turkey, Maldives, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, India, South Korea, Malta, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Japan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify, you must:
- Be a new international student from one of the eligible countries
- Be paying your own tuition fees at the international rate
- Be joining an eligible master’s or MRes program in September 2025 or January 2026
- Accept your offer and pay the tuition deposit by the deadline mentioned in your offer letter
Who Is NOT Eligible?
You cannot apply if you:
- Have studied at Liverpool before (including XJTLU or as an Exchange/Study Abroad student)
- Hold an existing master’s degree
- Are sponsored by a government or company
- Are enrolling in a PGCert, PhD, MPhil, MArch, DDSc, or Professional Doctorate program
- Plan to study online.
