Are you a driven student dreaming of graduate study or research in the United States—or anywhere in the Americas? Here’s your chance to secure funding through the Organization of American States (OAS) Academic Scholarship 2025 for graduate studies or research beginning between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
This prestigious and competitive scholarship is open to international applicants from OAS Member States and supports full-time onsite, online, or hybrid graduate programs in a wide range of fields—except Medical Sciences and language studies.
Program Offerings
- Graduate-level studies or research (Master’s or PhD level)
- Study Mode: On-campus, online, or blended
- Duration: Minimum of 1 academic year and maximum of 2 academic years
- Host Locations: Universities in any OAS Member State (excluding the applicant’s home/sponsoring country)
- Eligible Institutions: Any accredited university, preferably within the OAS Consortium of Universities
Scholarship Funding Details
OAS Academic Scholarships are complementary in nature and can fund up to USD $10,000 per academic year, covering:
- Tuition and mandatory university fees
- Health insurance
- Monthly complementary subsistence allowance
- Roundtrip airfare
- Annual book allowance
Note: Scholarships do not cover 100% of expenses. Students are encouraged to seek additional funding.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of an OAS Member State
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree by the time of application
- Have a strong academic record (above minimum GPA required by the intended university)
- Be in good mental and physical health
- Demonstrate language proficiency in the language of instruction of the host university
- Agree to return to your home country for at least 24 months after completing the program

- Copy of diploma and transcripts (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- Unconditional admission letter for a program starting in 2025
- Two recommendation letters (from professors or employers)
- Government-issued ID or passport
- CV (no more than 2 pages)

- Proof of language proficiency (if required by the host university).
