Background & Job Description
The National Social Security Fund (NSSF), a key institution in Kenya’s social protection sector, is offering a full-year paid internship under the 2025 Internship Program. This initiative aligns with the Government Youth Empowerment Strategy and aims to equip young graduates with essential job skills and exposure to the professional work environment.
Interns will be placed across NSSF’s head office and countrywide branches. They will be mentored and supervised by experienced staff members while contributing meaningfully to Kenya’s public service landscape. The internship is designed to prepare participants for the competitive job market and help build a career foundation within government or private sectors.
Tasks
While tasks will vary depending on the department, interns will generally:

Work under department heads and supervisors across various operational units.

Gain practical experience in finance, legal affairs, ICT, human resources, records management, customer service, and general administration.

Participate in project support and implementation.

Learn key processes relevant to Kenya’s retirement benefits sector.

Contribute ideas and assist in organizational improvements.
Qualifications
Education and Certification

Must hold a degree or diploma from a recognized institution.

Should have graduated and be in possession of a certificate.

Eligible candidates must have graduated within the last four years (from the closing date of this call).
Experience
Additional Requirements

Must be between 20 and 34 years old.

Must be available to work full-time for the entire 1-year duration.

Should not have previously participated in any internship or employment since graduation.
