The National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) in New York City has just thrown down the gauntlet to the next generation of mathematical trailblazers: the 2025–2026 Exponent Fellowship is officially accepting applications as of April 22, 2025. But act fast—the window closes on May 15, 2025, and spaces are limited.
A Career Launchpad Like No Other
This fully paid, year-long fellowship thrusts graduating math majors onto MoMath’s vibrant exhibit floor, where excitement meets education. Exponent Fellows will:

- Engage the Public as mathematical docents, transforming complex concepts into “aha!” moments for visitors of all ages.
- Sharpen Communication & Outreach Skills through hands-on programming and public presentations.
- Expand Their Mathematical Horizons by working side-by-side with world-renowned visiting professors and MoMath’s senior leadership.
- Design & Execute a Signature Project that showcases personal creativity and mathematical insight.
Total compensation is approximately $52,000, with a $5,000 completion bonus awaiting fellows who see the year through.
Who We’re Looking For?
Ideal candidates will hold—or be about to receive—a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a 3.5 GPA or higher, and possess:

- A natural flair for interpersonal communication and public engagement.
- The creativity to present mathematics in fresh, memorable ways.
- A proven work ethic, whether in academia, internships, or other professional roles.
- U.S. work authorization for 14 months (no sponsorship available).
