King’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (KURF) 2025

Looking to get a head start in the world of research as an undergraduate student? King’s College London is once again inviting ambitious and curious minds—including international students—to apply for the prestigious King’s Undergraduate Research Fellowships (KURF) for summer 2025. Whether you’re in your first year, final year, or anywhere in between, this is your chance to contribute to real research alongside King’s world-class academics—and get paid for it!

What is KURF All About?

The KURF programme gives undergraduates the unique opportunity to engage in active research across all faculties and subject areas at King’s. You’ll work closely with leading researchers, gain hands-on experience, and even contribute to research that could be published or presented on global platforms.

Every year, many KURF Fellows walk away with more than just a line on their CV. They gain co-authorship on academic papers, present at international conferences, and contribute to exhibitions, public engagement projects, and innovative lab work.

And here’s the best part: around 70% of selected Fellows come from underrepresented or Widening Participation backgrounds—so if you’ve ever doubted your chances, this is your sign to apply!

Benefits You Can’t Ignore

Alongside immersive research experience, KURF Fellows receive:

  • A bursary of up to £1,500 depending on the format you choose
  • A certificate of participation and HEAR recognition
  • Proof of highly sought-after transferable skills for future job or academic applications
  • Invitations to top-tier events like Posters in Parliament, where students share their work with influential audiences.

Flexible Formats for All Students

King’s gets that students have different schedules. That’s why KURF offers flexible formats so more students can participate—even if you have work or caring responsibilities:

  • 150 hours over 4 weeks | £1,500 bursary
  • 150 hours over 4–8 weeks | £1,500 bursary
  • 75 hours (Job-share option) | £750 bursary.
