Backed by the Government of Japan, this highly anticipated internship aims to place 14 young leaders—two from each IGAD Member State—within various IGAD offices for a three-month, non-renewable placement designed to enhance regional cooperation, gender equality, and sustainable development across the Horn of Africa.

Why You Should Apply?

This is not your average internship. The IGAD Internship Programme offers:

  • Placement in your home country, with potential travel opportunities within the IGAD region

  • Networking opportunities with professionals, policymakers, and international experts

While the program is unpaid, the career-defining experience, mentorship, and institutional exposure make this internship a golden opportunity for ambitious graduates.

  • Assisting in gender mainstreaming efforts
  • Producing an end-of-internship report under supervision of an IGAD Project Manager
