Fully Funded Master’s Scholarships 2025 in Cyprus for South African Students

Here’s exciting news for South African graduates dreaming of a world-class education in Europe! The Government of Cyprus, in collaboration with the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING), has announced up to three fully funded postgraduate scholarships for the academic year 2025–2026. This prestigious opportunity allows selected candidates to pursue cutting-edge research and academic excellence in fields like Medical Genetics, Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience, and Biotechnology—all while living in one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful destinations.

What’s On Offer?

The scholarships support admission into Master of Science (MSc) programmes at CING and cover both tuition and living expenses:

Scholarship Fund Offers Following

  • Full tuition fee waiver worth €8,000
  • Monthly stipend of up to €1,000 for 12 months (for accommodation and living expenses)
  • Access to state-of-the-art research labs and world-class faculty at CING
  • Support services for international students from the Education Office

Important: While most expenses are covered, students are advised to prepare for any additional costs that may arise during their stay.


Available MSc Programs at CING

Scholarships are open to the following 1-year, full-time Master’s programmes:

  • MSc in Molecular Medicine
  • MSc in Medical Genetics
  • MSc in Neuroscience
  • MSc in Biotechnology

Each program requires completion of at least:

  • 50 ECTS credits from taught courses (including tutorials)
  • 40 ECTS credits from a research or library-based project.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Cyprus Government – CING Scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be citizens and permanent residents of South Africa
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university
  • Meet the MSc admission requirements as detailed in the CING Prospectus
  • Provide proof of English language proficiency, if prior education was not in English
  • Demonstrate strong academic potential and motivation to pursue research in biomedical sciences.
