The Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Global Cultures Institute at King’s College London, in partnership with the Charles Wallace Trust (CWIT), has officially opened applications for the King’s–Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellowship 2025–26. This Charles Wallace biennial fellowship is designed to support early to mid-career scholars working in the fields of Arts, Heritage, and the Humanities.
Program Description
This Visiting Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for Indian scholars who have not previously conducted research outside India. The selected fellow will be hosted at King’s College London for three (03) months from the end of April 2026, where they will pursue independent research, collaborate with leading academics, and contribute to the vibrant intellectual community of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Global Cultures Institute.
Charles Wallace Funding Benefits
The fellowship includes:
- £700 for return airfare
- £1,600 per month as a living stipend for the three-month duration
- Access to workspace, library, internet, and office facilities at King’s College London
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the CWIT Visiting Fellowship, applicants must:
- Have completed a PhD
- Be in full-time employment at a recognized Indian university or research institution
- Not have held a CWIT grant in the last 5 years
- Not be currently holding or applying for any other international award simultaneously.
Responsibilities of the Fellow
The CWIT Fellow is expected to:
- Develop their independent research
- Deliver a seminar during their stay
- Engage in collaborative academic activities with the faculty
- Contribute to the research environment at King’s Global Cultures Institute.

Application Timeline
Application Deadline: The last date to apply for the Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellowship 2025–26 is 7 May 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed online in June 2025, and final decisions will be communicated via email.
