The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has officially announced a deadline extension for Cycle 2 of the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships 2025. The new closing date is now 4 June 2025 at 15:00 UTC, replacing the earlier deadline of 24 May 2025. This extension provides a critical opportunity for students across the Commonwealth who are passionate about driving local and global impact to complete their applications.
What is the QECS Scholarship?
The QECS is a fully funded award for a two (02) year Master’s degree at one of the ACU member universities in a low- or middle-income Commonwealth country. It is designed for students who are dedicated to enacting change in their communities while gaining international academic and cultural experience.
What Does the QECS Cover?
- Full tuition fees
- Living allowance (stipend) for the duration of the scholarship
- Return economy flights to the host country
- One-time arrival allowance
- Research Support Grant (optional, subject to approval)
Where Can You Study?
Participating universities in this cycle include:
- South Africa: Tshwane University of Technology, University of Pretoria, University of the Free State, University of Venda
- Mauritius: University of Mauritius
- Papua New Guinea: Papua New Guinea University of Technology
- Fiji: The University of the South Pacific
- Sri Lanka: University of Colombo, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Each of these institutions offers specific eligible courses, and applicants must submit their QECS application alongside a university admission application.
