What Is the Durham Inspiring Excellence £10K Scholarship?
Durham’s Inspiring Excellence Scholarship is a competitive postgraduate award worth £10,000 in tuition fee reduction. It is awarded to new international, self-funded students with outstanding academic achievements and potential to make a global impact after graduation.
There are 85 scholarships up for grabs for eligible Master’s programmes starting in September 2025.
Eligible Postgraduate Programmes
You must apply to one of the seven eligible one-year Master’s programmes at Durham University:
- MSc Biotechnology – C2K109
- MSc Advanced Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) – G5T709
- MSc Law and Finance – M1KK09
- MSc Public Policy – L2KB09
- MSc Advanced Computer Science – G5T609
- MSc International Business – N2PD09
- MSc Islamic Finance – N3KD09.
Only students applying to these courses are eligible for the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Inspiring Excellence £10K Scholarship, you must:
- Be a new international student for the 2025/26 intake.
- Have applied for and received an offer (conditional or unconditional) for one of the eligible Master’s programmes.
- Meet or exceed the entry requirements for your chosen programme.
- Be self-funded (not receiving any other scholarships or external sponsorship).
Application Timeline
To secure the Durham Inspiring Excellence £10K Scholarship, it’s important to stay on track with the key dates. Start by applying to one of the seven eligible Master’s programmes and make sure you’ve submitted your full academic application — including all supporting documents — through Durham University’s online portal.
If you’re aiming for the first round of scholarship selection, you must receive an offer (conditional or unconditional) by 4 May 2025, and submit your scholarship application form no later than midnight (GMT) on 30 April 2025. Missed that window or still waiting on your offer?
Don’t worry — you’ll automatically be considered for the second round, provided you receive your offer by 8 June 2025 and submit your scholarship application by midnight (GMT) on 8 June 2025. Just remember, there’s no need to reapply if you’ve already submitted your application in the first round.
